Just in Time for the Holiday Season

Be a Boundary Badass

Stop Tripping over Triggers

Have Fun with the Fam Again

You’ve been waiting for someone to respect your boundaries.

But I’m here to tell you, that someone is you.

Boundaries aren’t about getting others to change. Boundaries about you finally deciding that you matter.

For years, you’ve been stuck in people-pleasing mode, accommodating others’ feelings, and twisting yourself into knots to avoid conflict.

It’s not working and it’s costing your peace.

Every Thanksgiving, you know that Pop-pop is gonna pop off, and Aunt Betsy is gonna be all up in your business.

Don’t spend another holiday dreading the family get-together, hiding out in the kitchen, feeling resentful, waiting for it to be over.

Be prepared. Be a Boundary Badass.

“I’ve actually gotten closer to my dad since I became a Boundary Badass.”  – Ron F., Engineer

As a Boundary Badass, you:

  • Don’t cross your boundaries to keep the peace, get approval, or assuage guilt

  • Refuse to hide parts of yourself to make others comfortable

  • Know your non-negotiables and don’t compromise them

  • Say no without guilt

  • Take action to make sure your needs are met

  • Have healthy relationships

  • Experience a freedom like no other

  • Name your limits and learn how to stay loyal to yourself, no matter who’s at the table – even your creepy cousin Carl.

“I’m not scared anymore. I ask for what I want and need in my relationships.” – Liz J., Stylist

“Having a game plan made it easier to go home. I was ready for the crazy. Best holiday season ever! Thanks, Jeff!” – Will G., Realtor

Have a Game Plan

A coach doesn’t send his team out onto the field without a game plan.  I’m not going to let you share another family gathering without one either.

You’ll have three key plays at your disposal. We’ll practice and drill them, so you’ll be confident come game day.

When Wacky Walter makes it weird, you’ll handle it easily.

When Conspiracy Colin goes for the extra point, you’ll block it immediately.

When Persistent Patty peppers you with prying questions, you’ll shut it down promptly.

WEEK 1: Take Inventory
Shine a light on where your boundaries are missing, fuzzy, or getting trampled. Reclaim the driver’s seat.

WEEK 2: Embrace Healthy Selfishness
Give yourself permission to consider your own needs, at least as much as you’re considering everyone else’s, and learn to hold others capable of meeting theirs.

WEEKS 3: Light the Shadow

Uncover qualities, beliefs, and commitments that have been sabotaging your boundaries from the inside out.

WEEK 4: Face the Ick
Take control of those gross feelings. Fear, discomfort, and conflict aren’t going to kill you. Setting the boundary is the discomfort that ends the ick.

WEEK 5: Identify Positive Outcomes
Stop reacting and start creating a life you love. Design the relationships and life that match your new-found self-respect and desires.

WEEK 6: Write Your Scripts
Craft real-life language for hard conversations. Identify low-stakes places to practice and build momentum through aligned action.

WEEK 7: Set Your Bottom-Line Boundary
Draw your line in the sand. Name the boundary you will no longer cross and learn to hold it with strength and grace.

WEEK 8: Be a Boundary Badass
Lock it in.  Show up for Thanksgiving this year clear, grounded, and unapologetically yourself. You are a Boundary Badass. Enjoy the turkey on the table –– and the turkeys around it.

“Even thinking about setting boundaries with my family was really hard at first. I was afraid they’d disown me. I started by practicing with the small, low-stakes stuff like Jeff recommended. I’ve worked my way up to some more important boundaries. So far, so good! It might take time to have the relationship I want, but I have hope.” – Dylan T., Teacher

WHO AM I?

Jeff Ryan, the Boundary Badass who's got your back.

As a master personal development coach, I’ve helped hundreds of people overcome obstacles holding them back from living life fully.

One of the biggest blocks is a lack of boundaries.

If you’re struggling with family, finances, work, goals, desires, or dreams, I can practically guarantee that there’s a boundary that needs to be set.

Likely several, to be honest.

I know firsthand the chaos this lack of boundaries causes.

Being pulled in a hundred different directions. Saying yes to every request. Stressing out. Not wanting to be a disappointment.

I craved acceptance, inclusion, and belonging like my dogs crave cookies. I buried my needs so far down my to-do list I needed a backhoe to excavate them.

Until one day... I. Was. Done.

Done being a doormat. Done taking care of everybody else. Done betraying myself for approval.

I became a Boundary Badass.

I know what it takes to build boundaries rather than burn your life to the ground.

I’ll help you draw the line around your non-negotiables and I’ll show you how to set your boundaries, and most importantly, how to hold them.

You’re a budding badass, and I’ve got your back every step of the way.

Don't you worry. Boundary-crossing Bertha has met her match.

We’ll brave it together.

BOUNDARIES

Nancy Levin, bestselling author of Setting Boundaries Will Set You Free, defines a boundary as: “a limit that you set to define what you will and will not do, or what you will or will not accept or tolerate from others.”

In other words, a boundary is a commitment you make to yourself.

Imagine sitting down to a drama-free dinner and Uncle Tony doesn't try your patience. Aunt Betsy minds her own business. And Cousin Carl? Well, he's still creepy, but he's in the corner.

Why? Because you set clear boundaries and made your expectations known.

You're confident in your commitments to yourself, so you know exactly what you'll do if Pop-pop pops off.

You enjoy the food and the company – free to help yourself to seconds, and stay for pie.

You're amazed at how you feel deeper connections with some folks around the table and how much easier the conversation is.

You are a Boundary Badass.

As author, Prentis Hemphill writes, “Boundaries are the distance at which I can love you and me at the same time.”

“I used to think having boundaries meant I was being selfish. Now I know they’re how I love myself.” – Sandy B., Attorney

“Practicing my script with a partner gave me the self-confidence I needed to set a firm boundary with my mom.” – Andy V., Strategist

WHY SMALL-GROUP COACHING

  • “I’m not the only one with a bumpkin for a brother-in-law.” Hearing others wrestle with boundaries, relationships, or fear of consequences, normalizes the experience.

  • Potential for more a-ha moments. Someone else raises a question you hadn’t thought to ask, or describes a struggle you didn’t realize you shared.

  • Built-in accountability. When people meet each week and talk about actions they took, there is a natural incentive to follow through.

  • Practice new behaviors in real time. When learning to set boundaries, ask for what you need, receive feedback, or tolerate disagreement, the group is a safe laboratory for practicing.

  • The group creates momentum. One person's breakthrough can give another person courage. Progress becomes contagious: “If they can have that conversation, I can have mine.”

  • Connection and belonging. In individual coaching, you have one coach. In group coaching, you have a coach and a community.

SAFETY FIRST: BOUNDARIES CREATE CONTAINERS

Everyone in the program is here to Be a Boundary Badass, but that doesn't mean anyone gets to be an ass.

There are group rules of engagement and confidentiality that we all agree to.

What happens in Vegas is all over Instagram.

What happens in the group, stays in the group.

FAQ

Who is this for?

If you identify as male, female, or non-binary and are 18 to 118, keep reading. (If you're over 118, Welcome!)

If you know you need to set some boundaries in your life, you're in the right place.

If you're willing to give it a real try (not a half-assed one), you belong here.

If you're ready to take responsibility and take action, your badassery may already be showing.

If you're going to show up for yourself and your fellow participants, you've found your people.

If you said "no" to any of the above, this isn't for you.

How much time will I need each week?

Aside from the 90-minute live sessions, I'd say about 15 minutes a day. Though you may find you want to spend more time with yourself as you set and hold your boundaries.

Do I have to attend the live sessions?

Here's your first practice in setting boundaries: Do what you need to do to protect the time slot and attend the live sessions.

The work and coaching is best done live. It's beneficial for you and the group to show up and be present. Sometimes life happens. Missing one or two live sessions and watching the replay is likely okay. You'll probably still become a Boundary Badass.

Miss more than that, and you cheat yourself out of the experience.

And let's be honest... If you really think you could do it on your own by watching the replays and doing the work on your own, you wouldn't be thinking about coaching.

So here is a boundary: If you know that you're not going to attend at least six sessions live, do not sign up.

Will the session be recorded and can I watch the replay?

Yes. Sessions will be recorded for participant review only. They may not be shared with or viewed by anyone outside of the program. Session recordings will be made available the following day.

Do you only offer Small-Group Coaching?

No. I also offer 1:1 coaching. Contact me if you are interested in working with me 1:1. Private coaching rates apply.

You've reached the bottom line boundary of the page.

So what's it gonna be?

Another year of hiding in the kitchen avoiding Cousin Carl?
